Blackwell House

My wife, grannie, and I stayed at Blackwell House for two nights in July, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Northern Ireland. From the moment we booked, Edele and Alessio were incredibly accommodating and responsive. Before our arrival, they even helped us choose the best room arrangements for three guests, which made everything so easy. Just before arriving, my wife and I came down with a sinus infection and weren’t feeling our best. Edele and Alessio were kind and flexible, even allowing us to check in a bit early (something we greatly appreciated while under the weather.) The property itself is beautiful and tranquil, with a lovely garden full of fresh vegetables and even a charming chicken coop. And Edele’s cooking was a real treat! Breakfast each morning was delicious, especially the freshly baked croissants. We also have to mention the excellent wheaten bread and the fine dining experience, both of which were fantastic. The rooms were immaculately clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the whole atmosphere of the hotel was quiet and calming. It is the perfect place to relax, read, and recharge! We left feeling refreshed and so grateful for the warm hospitality. Blackwell House was a highlight of our trip, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

We had a special occasion to celebrate and this was the perfect venue for that. With so much attention to detail, it is clear that Alessio and Edele make every effort to ensure that Blackwell House is a wonderful experience. We didn't feel like guests in a guest house, more like part of a family in a family home. The breakfast, with fresh eggs from their own hens, was superb and our authentic Swiss meal was delicious. Thank you, Alessio, and family (including Riley) we look forward to seeing you again.

Blackwell House is really a very special place. Cosy atmosphere, elegant decor, gorgeous food. Edele and Alessio go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and pampered. Really recommended for a memorable stay in the beautiful Armagh countryside.

We recently stayed at Blackwell House Hotel for my husband’s birthday. The House, rooms and decor are beautiful and the owners Edele and Alessio made us feel very welcome. We had homemade scones, tea and Prosecco on arrival and a delicious 3 course dinner that evening. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and one we’d highly recommend.

We began our stay with an afternoon tea that was simply exceptional, a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, with every element fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. Later, we indulged in the five-course suprise evening menu, which was a true culinary journey. Each dish was prepared to the highest standard, showcasing skill, creativity, and finesse, while the service was attentive, perfectly timed, and delivered with warmth and professionalism. Blackwell House itself is a masterpiece of style, class, and quality. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed, from the décor to the smallest finishing touches, creating an atmosphere that is both luxurious and welcoming. We stayed in the Loft Suite, which was a real highlight and complete with a private jacuzzi, its own entrance, and a balcony with breathtaking views over the countryside. Slipping into the jacuzzi in the evening after dinner, with the stars above and the peaceful surroundings, was the perfect way to end our day. Our heartfelt thanks to Edele and Alessio for making our special occasion truly memorable. Their high standards, warm personalities, and commitment to excellence make Blackwell House an absolute gem. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Blackwell House B&B in Scarva. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. The multi-course gourmet dinner was outstanding, beautifully prepared by Edele and full of flavor. Our Irish breakfast the next morning was equally delicious, with thoughtful gluten-free options. The king bed was extremely comfortable, and the large soaking tub was appreciated after a long day on the road. The facilities throughout the property were excellent, but what truly made our stay special was the warm and engaging welcome from our hosts who made us feel right at home. We appreciated every detail of our visit and will definitely make it a point to return. Highly recommended!

I booked the entire House for some VIP clients of mine. From my initial phonecall with Alessio the experience was superb. Communications was excellent and they went above and beyond to look after my clients. Edele put on a special menu for them and offered to close the restaurant (which wasn't required, but a lovely thought). Most importantly, my clients gave excellent feedback and would be delighted to stay again. A true 5* experience. Highly recommended.

Blackwell house was amazing! The room was so sweet, and the location was quiet and out of the way. The food was AMAZING truly I felt guilty eating the warm fresh bread knowing my sister wasn’t going to get to have any because she was staying somewhere else! Overall the hosts were fantastic and made our little pre-wedding trip very special. They also set up the sauna for me, equipped with the little sauna hats and fresh towels, which was so nice in contrast to the cold rainy outdoors.
